Business Continuity Management System Policy
The Business Continuity Management System (hereinafter referred to as BCMS) Policy shows the Central Securities Depository of Türkiye (hereinafter referred to as MKK) approach to business continuity.
MKK Business Continuity Policy has been established in order to ensure life safety, manage downtime processes, prevent system and resource losses and fulfill its legal obligations in case of events or crisis situations that will prevent it from achieving the MKK mission determined by the Board of Directors.
The MKK BCMS policy has been prepared based on the importance of the MKK in the financial infrastructure of Türkiye, the duties and responsibilities given by law and the requirements of the ISO 22301 BCMS standard and MKK Business Continuity Framework is compliant with the Information Systems Communique published by the Capital Markets Board and the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye.
The first priority of MKK is to ensure the safety of employees and guests in cases of crisis or events that will prevent the MKK from achieving its corporate objectives determined. Once the life safety of the employees is achieved the processes that are determined as critical according to the business impact analysis, being evaluated within the scope of confidentiality, integrity and accessibility results are intended to be continued as planned, recovered and returned to normal condition.
The corrective measures against the incidents and situations that MKK might encounter are taken through BCMS, which is carried out according to the policies and procedures approved by the MKK management. In the services provided by MKK to our members and other stakeholders, especially Central Registry Sytem, MKK commits to ensure continuous maintenance of activities and it is aimed to minimize the legal, financial, reputational and operational negative effects of incidents experienced in disaster phase.
MKK's Senior Management commits to the maintenance of BCMS activities effectively, continual improvement of the BCMS and in this context taking necessary corrective measures. In order to measure and report the measures and improvements taken through corporate performance indicators, MKK regularly conducts business continuity drills with the participation of its employees and stakeholders, and aims to have strategies to act quickly against unexpected events through trainings and awareness activities.
In order to carry out Business Continuity activities effectively, SWOT analysis is conducted based on internal and external factors as part of the strategic plans and updated continuously. The weaknesses and threats identified in the SWOT analysis are included in the assessments conducted in the enterprise risk management process.

Our organization has been implementing a Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) and obtained the ISO/IEC 22301 certification in 2013. The validity of our certificate is maintained with successful audits carried out by internationally accredited independent auditing organizations, and currently ANAB accredited certificate is valid until October 2025.
