"Electronic Trade Repository” is an electronic platform to centrally collect and maintain records of all derivative contracts.

Legal Framework
Pursuant to the resolution taken at the board meeting of the CMB dated 03.04.2015 and numbered 2015/427, MKK was authorized as a “Trade Repository” as per Article 87 of the Capital Market Law.

Purpose
With the e-VEDO System by centrally collecting and maintaining the details of the derivative contracts enhancing the transparency of derivative markets and reducing risks to financial stability are aimed.

REPORTING METHODs and FREQUENCY

Counterparties with reporting liabilities will be able to conduct their reporting through web modules or XML file transfer. New contracts will be reported once and the valuations of the contracts will be continued to be done daily. In addition to this, the modifications during the life of the contracts and the cancellations and terminations of contracts will also be reported separately.

Membership Procedures:

Institutions that will report to the e-VEDO Platform are required to be the members of the Platform.

There are two different types of membership in e-VEDO Platform.

General Membership: General TRI members are the institutions authorized to provide reporting services for the trades to which they are a party or the trades they broker. These members also include the institutions who offer reporting services on behalf of third parties, independently of such trades.

Direct Membership: Direct TRI members are the institutions that fulfill their reporting responsibilities regarding the trades to which they are a party or the trades they broker, on behalf of themselves and/or their customers who are parties to such trades.

According to the Communiqué ON PRINCIPLES REGARDING REPORTING TO TRADE REPOSITORY INSTITUTIONS (IV-87.1), contracting parties are subject to pairing where both parties are domestic investment institutions or both are domestic legal entities. In this respect, the notifications of derivative transactions of both contracting parties are subject to pairing.

The pairing processes of the derivative contracts in the platform have been implemented as of 01.04.2019

Scope and Liables

Transaction details for over-the-counter (OTC) and on-exchange traded derivatives by financial and non-financial counterparties have been reported to e-VEDO System since 2018.

Transactions occurring in domestic organized markets have been reported by Takasbank due to the CCP role.

All announcements and general letters are in Turkish. As they are used by only local members.
