MKK officially completed its membership to the Asia Pacific Central Securities Depositories Group (ACG) and signed a new international cooperation as of May 18, 2024.

As an important financial infrastructure institution of Türkiye, MKK acts as a bridge between continents and markets through ACG, the 5th of the international associations of which it is a member. With its ongoing projects in the Asia-Pacific region and planned collaborations, MKK aims for mutual gains in capital markets between Türkiye and countries in the region. Founded in 1997 by the Central Securities Depositories in the Asia-Pacific region, ACG has 41 members with the addition of MKK.

Commenting on the occasion, MKK General Manager and Board Member Dr. Ekrem ARIKAN said:

"We received a letter of congratulations from Dr. Wenhua DAI, ACG President, announcing our membership acceptance. Following the Extraordinary General Assembly process, reviewed and approved by the ACG Executive Committee, we were officially accepted as a member of the ACG as of May 18, 2024 with the positive opinions of all members. We value the Asia Pacific region as it hosts countries with which we have strong relations and tangible cooperation. With our Electronic General Meeting System (e-GENEL KURUL) solution, which has been used in Indonesia since 2020, a total of 5,218 general assemblies were successfully held by 877 different companies. 209,111 investors participated in these meetings electronically. We are also working on developing an e-GENEL KURUL system for Indonesian capital markets Debt Securities, which will be launched this year. We look forward to the benefits this will bring to our organization and the capital markets of our country, considering the collaborations we aim to develop with other countries in the region as well as with our e-GENEL KURUL solution in Indonesia. We are also excited to host the joint meeting of the Associations of Eurasian, African and Middle Eastern Depository Institutions (AMEDA and AECSD) in İstanbul in October this year with the participation of more than 40 countries."
