The Annual General Meeting of the Association of Eurasian Central Securities Depositories (AECSD), of which Merkezi Kayıt Kuruluşu (MKK) is a member, was held in Bishkek, on September 5-6, 2019, hosted by the Central Securities Depository of Kyrgyzstan (CJSC). A conference was held as part of the organization in order to exchange opinions among member institutions of AECSD.
A Memorandum of Understanding and Goodwill Agreement was signed between MKK and the Central Securities Depository of Kyrgyzstan (CJSC) at the AECSD General Meeting, in which MKK CEO and Board Member Mr. Ekrem Arıkan and MKK Directors participated.
The agreement aims to improve close relations and cooperation between the two institutions, to contribute to the development of the Kyrgyz capital markets through joint projects, and to strengthen the financial relations between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan. The agreement reflects the importance attached by Turkey to the Turkic Republics within the scope of the 2023 targets and the vision of the Istanbul International Financial Center.
Ekrem Arıkan, MKK CEO and Board Member, answered the questions posed by the local media organizations and shared his opinions, “This agreement is meant to strengthen the close and trust-based relationship between MKK and the CSD of Kyrgyzstan, as well as to contribute to the improvement of financial relations and capital markets ”.
Within the framework of the organization, bilateral meetings were held with Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and other countries in the region. In this context, the importance attached by Turkey to the countries in the region was expressed and the message that it was ready to cooperate for the development of the regional capital markets was delivered.
In the conference section of the program, Arıkan made a speech titled “MKK’s Journey of Digital Transformation’’ and shared experiences and information about the technological transformation that MKK went through in line with its vision of 2023. In addition, Mr. Arıkan presented MKK’s value-added products and services that were developed in-house through its R&D license, and stated that MKK is ready to offer these products for implementation in member countries.
